"I’m Joanne Robinson and I hold the Community Archaeology Training Placement based at Oxford University Department for Continuing Education (OUDCE) and working on the Archaeology of East Oxford project.
"I graduated from the University of Birmingham with a BA in Archaeology in 2010 after which I volunteered for a number of projects and organisations including the Dig for Shakespeare excavations. I loved working with people from the local community who had a passion to learn and dedication to their project come rain or shine. I then worked for the Lake District National Park Authority, and gained some excellent HER experience but also spent some time with community groups and volunteers on consolidation projects and vegetation clearance. I loved my job and the variety that came with it, but part of me missed trench life so I am delighted to have this opportunity to get my hands dirty again.
The project is amazingly varied and pulls together such a variety of people from the community. I’m looking forward to spending the next year developing my skills, and helping others to develop theirs."
