Sam Rowe, Community Archaeology trainee 2011 - 2012

Meet Sam:

"I graduated in archaeology from the University of York in 2009 and have worked on a variety of different projects across the UK as a volunteer. Since graduating I have worked for a brief time as a commercial archaeologist and on two historic mapping projects based in North Wales and Greater Manchester to complement the HERs for those regions. My main areas of interest include landscape studies, industrial archaeology, prehistory and cultural heritage, but these interests are growing all the time!

"For a while now I have wanted the opportunity to get back in the field to work with passionate and enthusiastic volunteers that genuinely want to learn and experience archaeology in a hands-on capacity which is why I applied for a CATP. I hope to get involved in a variety of different community projects across the Merseyside region and help to make archaeology more accessible to the public and amateur archaeologists."
