Sarah Rees, Community Archaeology trainee 2012 - 2013

Meet Sarah:

"Hello, I’m Sarah. I hold the CATP for Dyfed Archaeological Trust, based in Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire. I graduated from Trinity College Carmarthen with a BA in Archaeology many years ago! Since then I have got married, had two children, studied for a History degree with Swansea University and gained a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) as a Secondary School History teacher from Swansea Metropolitan University.

"As I am originally from Carmarthenshire this placement is a fantastic opportunity for me not only to work locally within archaeology but also to work within a community I know and love.

"I am hoping with my background in education to build good relationships with the local schools and not only bring archaeology into the classroom but get young archaeologists out onto sites.

"Hopefully this year I will have the opportunity to get involved in lots of community projects and meet many volunteers who share my enthusiasm for archaeology."
