Residents and visitors in York lined the streets this weekend to share in the sporting and cultural excitement of the Tour de France in Yorkshire. An event that included celebration of heritage with a flyover by historic military aircraft.

Beatrice de Cardi House

The Council for British Archaeology's office is located on the route chosen for stage two of 'Le Grand Départ', which commenced at the race course in York and finished in Sheffield on Sunday 6th July. CBA HQ was recently renamed in honour of Beatrice de Cardi: the first Secretary of the CBA, who celebrated her 100th birthday last month.
