This is intended to include the excavation, management, stewardship or presentation of archaeological and heritage resources that include major elements of community participation, collaboration, or outreach. The journal also recognises the growing interest in voluntary activism in archaeological research and interpretation, and seeks to create a platform for discussion about such work as well as a showcase for the dissemination of community archaeology projects (which might offer models of best practice for others, as well as lessons to be learnt from less successful projects and ventures).
By inviting papers relating to theory, process and practice from across the world, the journal seeks to demonstrate both the diversity of community archaeology and its commonalities. We seek contributions from members of the voluntary sector as well as those involved in archaeological practice and academia.
