Members' weekend: The archaeology of Suffolk

This year, our members' weekend takes place 17-19 October and explores the rich archaeological heritage around Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk.

Attendees will enjoy a guided tour of St Edmundsbury Cathedral, a drinks reception and lecture at Moyse's Hall to set the scene for the weekend.  We will then visit the iconic site of Sutton Hoo in the company of its excavator, Professor Martin Carver and discover how the multiple-award winning Norfolk Medieval Graffiti Survey is being brought to Suffolk.

Finally, we will step back in time at the remarkable recreation of an Anglo-Saxon village at West Stow, and explore Grime's Graves, the only Neolithic flint mine open to visitors in Britain.

If you'd like to join find out more, see our event flyer on the link below and if you'd like to book either complete the application form on the flyer or go direct to our online event booking site.
