The first person to log onto the website amongst the stones was the winner of our launch competition, Leyna McQuillin from Wiltshire. She was joined by representatives from three of YAC’s local branches. Phil Harding – archaeologist on TV’s Time Team and prehistoric expert – joined proceedings and treated the young archaeologists to a guided tour around the stones.

Young visitors to the new website will have loads of archaeological treats in store. The website’s regularly updated blog will be packed with archaeological news, competitions – including YAC’s famous Dig It! excavation competitions – reviews, facts, and places to go. It will also feature fantastic hands-on archaeological activities, and the opportunity to ‘Ask our archaeologist’.
