York Young Archaeologists' Club Branch celebrates 40th birthday

On Saturday 13th October members of the York Branch of the Young Archaeologists' Club (YAC) celebrated the 40th birthday with friends and family at the York Archaeological Trust’s annual History and Archaeology Fair.

We would like to thank everyone who came and joined in the celebration of the club’s achievements: we were spoilt for choice with 40 fairy cakes, a layer-cake, a chocolate cake and a Stonehenge cake!

YAC is the only UK-wide club for young people up to the age of 17 interested in archaeology. Run by the Council for British Archaeology, YAC’s vision is for all young people to have opportunities to be inspired and excited by archaeology, and to empower them to help shape its future. The Council for British Archaeology is committed to widening Participation; to find out more about the ways you can get involved please see the ‘Participation’ section of the website.

Help keep the YAC branches going for another 40 years by supporting the Dig Deep for YAC Campaign.
