The world's largest celebration of archaeology always kicks off the summer holidays with plenty of ways to get hands-on with history. There's plenty to choose from for all ages and interests with over 1,000 events across the UK.

Search the online listings for what's on in your area. New events are being added every day.

Summer holiday fun

Enjoy archaeology with friends and family. Events include excavation open days, where you get to see archaeology in action, and community digs and archaeology days where you and your family can pick up a trowel and have a go yourselves. Access the latest discoveries in your area with behind-the-scenes tours and expert-led guided walks and experience life as an ancient Greek or Roman.
