CBA issue joint statement on recent planning reform announcements

The public response to the announcement of a new Neighbourhood Planning and Infrastructure Bill has caused ripples within Government and are testament to the level of interest people have in protecting the historic environment.

The issue of the effects of planning reform on archaeology are ongoing, however, and CBA will continue to advocate for the system of protections for archaeology enshrined in the planning system to be maintained.

CBA encourages all those who signed the petition to follow the Local Heritage Engagement Network (LHEN), and find out what you can do to keep the pressure on Government and ensure that archaeology is protected. You can find advice on the LHEN pages here.
