Were you a member of YAC as a young person? If so, we want to hear your stories to help inspire our current and future members to continue to engage with and enjoy archaeology beyond the YAC.
As part of the Council for British Archaeology's 75th anniversary celebrations, YAC-HQ are developing a project to create a network of Young Archaeologists’ Club Alumni, ex-members who have moved on to work in the archaeology, heritage, and museum sectors, as well as those whose lives outside of work have been influenced by their time in the club.
The Young Archaeologists’ Club (or YAC) was established in 1972, as Young Rescue, and currently has around 2000 active members between the ages of 8 and 16. There are potentially thousands of YAC Alumni that have great memories of their time as a member.
If this sounds like you, we want to hear all about it! We will collect your stories and use them to provide our current members with examples of possible routes into an archaeological or heritage-based professions and careers in other sectors, whilst demonstrating the positive impact archaeology has on people’s lives.
If you would be willing to do so, please complete the details requested here - http://eepurl.com/gRBWOH
