Child protection policy

YAC dig day at Silchester Roman Fort

The Council for British Archaeology (CBA) promotes the engagement of children and young people with archaeology, and achieves this primarily through the work of its Young Archaeologists’ Club (YAC) but other CBA activity can also include working with children and young people.

The full Child Protection Policy and Procedures of the Council for British Archaeology (CBA) can be downloaded from this page.

This policy was last reviewed and approved by the CBA's board of trustees in October 2017. Contact details were updated March 2020.

The CBA's Child Protection and Procedures reflects and includes the advice and guidlines outlined in the Safeguarding children section of the YAC Handbook.

For more advice or information about the Policy, please contact YAC HQ.
