Safeguarding policies and guidance

YAC dig

The Council for British Archaeology (CBA) promotes the engagement of children and young people with archaeology.

The full CBA Safeguarding Policy: Children and Adults at Risk can be downloaded from this page. We also have a Safeguarding Code of Behaviour to accompany this, which everyone working or volunteering with the CBA must follow. This code of behaviour applies to behaviour in the physical and online environment

This policy was last updated and subsequebntly approved by the CBA's Trustee Safeguarding Champion in April 2021.

The CBA's Safeguarding Policy reflects and includes the advice and guidelines outlined in the Safeguarding children section of the YAC Handbook.

To support safe activities with children and vulnerable adults we have also produced a number of support resources:

  • how they should behave and how others should behave towards them
  • who to contact if they need help

Digital Safeguarding

The full Digital Safeguarding Policy of the Council for British Archaeology (CBA) can be downloaded below. This policy was first published and approved by the CBA and it's Trustee Safeguarding Champion in February 2021.
